Collaborative Law

Collaborative family law is a new approach begun by family lawyers to allow clients to divorce and/or separate with respect and dignity. It is a process which enables clients to divorce constructively and which recognizes that the needs of the children come first.

Collaborative law at its simplest allows clients to keep control of the process. Family lawyers and their clients agree in writing to reach settlement without court involvement. Clients need to work together in an open and transparent manner to resolve children and financial issues arising out of the breakdown of the relationship.
